Rufus is a fantastic looking Hairy Hairless Chinese Crested. He will require extensive grooming in order maintain the look he has in these images as his back and legs are almost fully covered in hair. He is tall and weighs approximately 13 pounds. We are guessing his age to be between three and five years. He is neutered and UTD on all vaccinations and appears to be potty trained.Unfortunately Rufus was debarked by his previous owners, although it doesn’t appear to slow him down, it is something to be aware of if he ever has to be anaesthetized and it is obvious that this 'simple fix' was chosen above training because this very sweet dog is the barkiest Chinese Crested we have ever met. We have been working with him, but he will need continued work and training as ignoring his outbursts can lead to more dominant issues.
Rufus has a grade 3 heart murmur and an apparent elbow injury that we are still attempting to diagnose. Although he holds up his leg when he is walking and it is thinner than his other front leg it does not seem to slow him down at all.
Rufus is still new to our rescue and isn’t quite ready to be placed but we are listing him now and he should be available to go home very soon.
